To remind ourselves of where we started, a picture of our lovely home with the blue shutters that served Alpha Delta Pi so well for many, many years is followed by photos and a rendering of the new house, now open! While saying goodbye was difficult to do, we are tremendously excited about Gamma Iota’s new home. Construction is completed! Move in was August,4, 2020! June 2019
Abatement and preparation for demolition begin. After we emptied the house of as much as we could, we had a company salvage items that could be recycled, reused or donated to a worthy charity to get the property ready for demolition.
July 2019

September
Over September, a good bit of clay was removed and 1600 yards of good soil was brought in. The large foundation footers are being poured. Thanks to Scorpio Construction for the aerial photo. The elevator shaft can be seen in center… And the walls start to go up!
October
Lots of progress, as the stem walls and steel go up and floor slabs are poured.
November - December
The three floors of steel were completed by mid-Dec., with exterior walls to follow. It’s happening!
January

February
Exterior doors and windows are being installed, the Chapter house will be ready for the interior walls and ceilings. First floor progress below!
March
Doesn’t look like a Lego set anymore! Exterior walls, windows and doors in. You can see the AC units on the roof.

Construction is continuing through the coronavirus slow down and we still plan to reopen in August, 2020

Yes! It really is THAT big! The exterior is taking shape, with decorative elements installed and windows and door in. Interior photo includes the Fishbowl ceiling, and views of the second floor interior balcony. The construction continues, as it is considered essential work in Alachua County, but we haven’t been able to drop by to see it because of social distancing. Thanks to Scorpio Construction for providing these photographs.

What’s been happening? Exterior stucco should wrap up by the end of May (it looks amazing!); Final roofing is on; acoustical ceiling grid and paint complete on 2nd floor; working on ceiling and paint on the 3rd floor; ceramic tile almost done on 2nd and 3rd floors; drywall complete on 1st floor and in the back stairwells; underground electric service ongoing; all mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough in inspections are completed; trim being installed. On schedule for an August 1 opening!
June
Exterior stucco has been completed (it looks amazing!); acoustical ceiling grid and paint completed on all floors; paint and ceramic tile almost done on 2nd and 3rd floors. Trim on first floor being completed. Kitchen (the most complicated room in the house!) being worked on. On schedule for an August 1 opening!
July
Exterior columns almost completed. Flooring on all floors is almost completed. Grand stairway railings have been installed and are stunning! Ceiling design elements make the Lion Room and the Diamond Room (bottom right) very unique. Dining Room, middle left and Servery, middle right have beautiful lighting elements. The Fishbowl is on the lower right (new exterior shutters are temporarily stored there). On schedule for an August 8 opening!
